Photochemistry | Reactivity | Interactions | Structure | Modeling

We study how light transforms molecular systems. Our research focuses on dynamic supramolecular assemblies, excited-state processes, and reactive ensembles, guided by both computation and experiment. Like a prism dispersing light, we break down complexity to reveal the fundamental interactions that shape chemical function.

Feb 2026 Congratulations to Dr. Chenyang Wu! We are delighted to announce that Chenyang Wu has successfully defended his PhD viva and submitted his dissertation, titled “Development and Mechanistic Investigation of a 1,2-Aminothiol-Based Bioorthogonal Reaction.” Chenyang played a key role in the mechanistic study of a high-efficiency bioorthogonal reaction for multiplex cell surface protein labeling (see the “TAMM coupling” in our 2025 JACS paper).
Jul 2025 Relocating to NYCU: The group will be moving to the Department of Applied Chemistry at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU) in Taiwan, starting August 1, 2025. YLW is immensely grateful for the inspiring time at Cardiff University and is looking forward to the new collaborations, new challenges, and new science at NYCU.
Jun 2025 We’ve migrated our website to GitHub for a sleek new look! :sparkles:
